-99 Item Code
To increase the number of any item you have,  do the following:
 

1.  Put the item on the sixth section of your list.
2.  Go to Viridian City.
3.  Talk to the old man who teaches you to catch Pokémon.
4.  Tell him that you ARE NOT in a hurry.
5.  FLY to Cinnabar Island.
6.  Walk all the way right, and SURF along the edge of the island.
7.  Once you enter a battle with MissingNO. or 'M, RUN away.
8.  Go back onto land.


After doing these 8 steps, the sixth item on your list should have
a number "(blob)9". Sell 30 of the items to get the number to 99.

NOTE: Nintendo has recently announced that they removed the
MissingNo. code from Pokémon Yellow. This unfortunately means
that the 99 Item Code will also not work on the Yellow version.

    Old Master Ball Code:

• Throw an Ultra Ball
• Press "B" as soon as the Ultra Ball explodes around the Pokémon
• If the Ultra Ball misses the Pokémon, you may have to put it to sleep or weaken it first.

• Throw any PokéBall
• Press 'B' as soon as the PokéBall explodes
• Hold the button until the PokéBall shakes the second time
• After you release the button, your chances of catching the Pokémon increase

1. FLY to Viridian City.
2. Talk to the old man who teaches you how to catch Pokémon.
3. Tell him that you are NOT in a hurry.
4. FLY to Cinnabar Island.
5. Walk right until you reach the edge of the island.
6. SURF along the edge of the island.
7. MissingNo. will appear after a while.

that the 99 Item Code will also not work on the Yellow version.

• Go to Celadon City, and go into the hotel for humans, not Pokémon.
• You'll probably notice that the layout of the room is almost exactly like a Pokémon Center.
• Go over to the right wall.
• Stand facing the counter so that once space is between you and the counter.
• Press the "A" button.
• If you stood in the right position, a dialog box should appear and say, "(Name) turned on the PC."
• From there, you can access any PC on the game, like you could at Pokémon Centers!

• Go to any local Pokémon gym.
• Stand to the right or left of a statue in the gym.
• Use a fishing rod.
• Ash will use his fishing rod and actually catch fish! Neat, huh?
• You can also SURF on these statues.

• Enter a Pokémon Battle
• Choose to "Fight"
• Select the attack you want by pressing "A".
• Hold the "A" button trough the attack.
• The chances of a Critical Hit or Special effect should increase.

• Go to an area or trainer that has Pokémon you want.
• Battle the Pokémon and win.
• FLY to Cinnabar Island.
• Walk right until you reach the edge.
• SURF along the edge.
• You'll find the Pokémon you saw in the previous area!
• You can also battle a trainer and SURF along the same edge to find their Pokémon.

• Go into the S.S. Anne and get the CUT ability.
• Enter a trainer battle and lose.
• Losing the battle will exit you from the S.S. Anne without causing it to leave dock.
• Now, continue with your game until you learn the SURF and STRENGTH abilities.
• (New Variation) Collect all 150 original Pokémon.
• (New Variation 2) It has been reported that this trick only works on the RED version.
• Go back to the port where the S.S. Anne is docked.
• Don't go in the ship; SURF off of the platform.
• Go right until you see a truck.
• Use STRENGTH on the truck.
• Some unknown result should occur. (You should find Mew or a way of getting him.)

RESULTS:

So far 5 people have reported that the trick doesn't work,
and 3 people have said that it does work. My guess now is
that this specific code does not work, but perhaps a variation
of it does, since there has been some more support of it.
