Pokémon Codes
Without using a game enhancer
All Codes  have been Tested & Approved by FLOOGY and ASH33

[ 99 Item Code | Master Ball Code | Catch MissingNo. | Invisible Computer | Statue Fishing ]

[ Super Attack | Default Pokémon Area | Mew Code | Level 100+ Pokémon ]

Codes are meant for Red, Blue, and Yellow versions. They remain untested for Gold and Silver.

Master Ball Code has been updated! (3/21/2000)

Pika-Pik-Pikachu!
(Translation: Happy Millenium!)

-99 Item Code
To increase the number of any item you have,  do the following:

  1.  Put the item on the sixth section of your list.
  2.  Go to Viridian City.
  3.  Talk to the old man who teaches you to catch Pokémon.
  4.  Tell him that you ARE NOT in a hurry.
  5.  FLY to Cinnabar Island.
  6.  Walk all the way right, and SURF along the edge of the island.
  7.  Once you enter a battle with MissingNO. or 'M, RUN away.
  8.  Go back onto land.

  9. After doing these 8 steps, the sixth item on your list should have
a number "(blob)9". Sell 30 of the items to get the number to 99.

NOTE: Nintendo has recently announced that they removed the
MissingNo. code from Pokémon Yellow. This unfortunately means
that the 99 Item Code will also not work on the Yellow version.

-Master Ball Code

    Old Master Ball Code:

New official version: Please remember that this trick is not 100% reliable. After a few tries, however, it should work.

-Catch MissingNo. #000

  1. FLY to Viridian City.
  2. Talk to the old man who teaches you how to catch Pokémon.
  3. Tell him that you are NOT in a hurry.
  4. FLY to Cinnabar Island.
  5. Walk right until you reach the edge of the island.
  6. SURF along the edge of the island.
  7. MissingNo. will appear after a while.
WARNING:Do not catch 'M. He will seriously damage your game information.
Be sure to only catch MISSINGNO.

NOTE: Nintendo has recently announced that they removed the
MissingNo. code from Pokémon Yellow. This unfortunately means
that the 99 Item Code will also not work on the Yellow version.

-Invisible Computer
This code really works. It seems that the debugging team missed one bug, and I'm glad they did! It's a neat trick!

-Fishing on a Statue
The kind of Pokémon you catch by fishing on statues depends on the kind of rod
you use. Try all three rods and see what varieties you catch! Write to me via my
guestbook and tell me what kinds you find! I'll try to post your results. Don't forget
to tell me what version you have.

-Super Attack
This code has not been completely proven to work. I would appreciate it
if you would test it and send me your results. Send me the amount of times
you used one attack, and then how many times it was a Critical Hit or had
a Special effect. Thank you!

-Default Pokémon Area
This is a very useful trick, especially to catch Safari Zone Pokémon!

-Mew Code(Without Game Genie)
I have not tested this code myself, so it is not approved yet.
If you try it and it works, please tell me, because to do this
code, you must have not finished the S.S. Anne; I did finish
the S.S. Anne, and I don't want to reset my game to try it
since I already caught Mew via Game Genie. However,
I list the results of the code that other people have sent me
(via my guestbook) in the RESULTS section below.

RESULTS:

So far 5 people have reported that the trick doesn't work,
and 3 people have said that it does work. My guess now is
that this specific code does not work, but perhaps a variation
of it does, since there has been some more support of it.
Keep trying, and if you do get it to work, tell me how in my
guestbook.

Thank you for all your help, and keep sending in your results!
Every comment counts! I think that eventually, a way to find
Mew without a game enhancer will be found!

-Level 100+ Pokémon
Remember to avoid catching 'M or you may ruin your game.

Go Back

All codes except the Mew Code have been tested by FLOOGY. ASH33 tried the old Mew Code on Pokémon BLUE without success.
